What is financial aid?

  1. Grants/Fee Waivers:  Aid which you do not have to repay and in most cases is awarded primarily on financial need.
  2. Scholarships:  Other sources of funds which you do not have to pay back and usually are not based on financial need. Instead, they may recognize GPAs, special talents, athletic, leadership ability or community service.
  3. Work-Study:  Aid which allows you to work on (or in rare cases, off campus) and earn money to help pay for college.
  4. Loans:  Borrowed money that you must repay with interest.
